EPZ P40

Looks and sounds hot

These look absolutely fantastic, it is hard to convey how nice they reflect the light with these faceplates. The tips fit the shell color, good job EPZ for this cool match. I would have preferred a more subdued shell color to really let the faceplate shine but it is hard to argue against the chosen color considering the rest of the package's aesthetic cohesiveness.

EPZ P40. It looks glorious.

The shell comfort is fine, the nozzle is a bit large and long but nothing out of the ordinary, it fits like a medium-large IEM. The cable is exceptional and feels great although a bit on the thick and memory-prone side.

Moving on to the sound, the first thing I noticed was that the sound is quite hot and bright. Bass body and quantity is toeing the line of being too little, and on some tracks, it felt like it was losing its balance.

The bass itself is nice but only when listening at medium-high volume. Below that, the bass is limp and does not have enough impact or body to be satisfying. When pushed a bit louder, everything comes alive, including the brightness which shines even more to the point of being too much. The P40 is first and foremost a vocal, bright leaning set and it does not try to compromise on this.

Overall, it sounds as hot as it looks. Whether that's a good thing remains to be seen.
